LECTURES
ORGANIZING YOUR ORPHANS
1 1/4 hour lecture

If you have ever wondered what to do with all those odds and ends quilt blocks you have laying around, then this lecture is for you. You know, three of these, four of those; not enough to do a quilt by themself, but too many to throw away. Real quilts will be used to illustrate ways to use up those bits and pieces from workshops, other quilts, and practice pieces. Sharyn will focus on simple techniques to achieve the size and color harmony, so important to give your quilts a sense of balance.

SETS EDUCATION
1 1/4 hour lecture

This lecture is based on Sharyn's book Setting Solutions. She will bring a suitcase full of quilts, and walk you through some problem blocks and their quilt solutions. She will literally skim through the entire book, concentrating on the chapters dealing with Size Reconciliation, Color Correction, Corner Cutters, and Dare to be Different. Anyone who has blocks not yet in a quilt, will not want to miss this inspiring presentation.

SAMPLER QUILTS WITH ATTITUDE
1 1/4 hour lecture

Real quilts, all sampler variations, will be shared as Sharyn focuses on the problem solving techniques used to make sampler quilts successful and stunning, rather than ordinary. Samplers don't have to be like the ones we made in the 1980's. This lecture promises to be exciting and inspirational.
WHO SAYS TREES HAVE TO BE GREEN
1 hour lecture

This lecture uses real quilts to introduce an innovative, playful approach to working with color. The quilts are from Sharyn's newest book, Great Sets. You'll enjoy seeing not only the color exercises, but also the 7 Settings featured in the book. Inspirational, Educational, and Fun!

CREATIVITY: INSPIRATION VERSUS DUPLICATION
1 1/4 hour lecture

You are invited to attend a visual journey of Sharyn’s creative process. This slide lecture will help you use the visual stimulation of antique and contemporary quilts to design and create your own unique quilts. The talk is based on making a minimum of three changes to the inspiration quilt as you design your own. The changes include such things as scale, color, basic pattern, borders, and orientation of blocks. There is a wealth of information and inspiration in this presentation.
